Nigel Power QC successfully prosecuted Michael Haigh for murder after he drove his 4.7 litre Jeep Cherokee at Ryan Kennedy, a man he claimed was his best friend. Although the defendant pleaded guilty to manslaughter, he was successfully prosecuted for murder at trial despite the fact that the reconstruction expert thought that the car was driven only at moderate speed and over a very short distance.

The defendant refused to reveal in cross-examination where the car he drove or the phone he was using were left after the fatal incident.
